Very Happy Novel

In "Very Happy," by Yue Xia Die Ying (Butterfly's Shadow Beneath The Moon), we are introduced to Li Zhao, a hopeful 20-year-old actor burdened by poverty and the constant search for his next meal. Having grown up in a children's facility, Li Zhao maintains an optimistic outlook, even as he works to support those he considers family. This contrasts sharply with Yan Ting, a wealthy 28-year-old businessman consumed by pessimism. Yan Ting questions the very meaning of life, seeing little distinction between living and dying. Li Zhao's perspective is simply, "Life is very happy." Yan Ting's world was once a bleak landscape until he encountered Li Zhao. He perceived Li Zhao as the most vibrant individual alive, questioning how else one could maintain such consistent liveliness within their heart.
