Facing Wrum.
"What did my father told you?" Wrum immediately asked me. I just stared at his eyes and try to read if he is hiding something that he did not tell me.
I doubt what Don Guillermo is telling me. I didn’t want to believe what he told me, but I also wanted to make sure what he said was true or not, by going to the underground floor without Wrum knowing.
Don Guillermo had left earlier, but I could still hear his voice when he told me that. I was just hoping that wasn't true.
Damn it Wrum.
"What did my father tell you?" he asked me again as a signal to bring me back to reality. I blinked a few times. I didn’t want to tell him what Don Guillermo had told me.
Not to believe that I was with Don Guillermo. There are just times when I really can’t help but think twice.
"I can't believe he's not telling you anything. I know there is, so what other lie did he tell you?" He asked me again.
Can I just tell him this? Damn, I have no other choice.
"He told me something." Doubting, I do not have any idea that it would be nice though. "My father is on your basement floor. That's what he said."
"So? Do you believe that?" he asked again.
"I want to go there now," I told him. "Just to make sure my father isn't in there."
"No," he answered sparingly.
"Wrum." I stammered at him and he immediately stared at me. He just stared at my face. "If you're not hiding anything from me there, I'm sure you won't be afraid for me to go."
"Your father is not in there." he confidently said. "Okay fine, let's go to the underground floor. I'll show you soon that I'm not hiding anything there."
I nodded at him and couldn’t restrain myself anymore and I was able to tell Wrum. Fortunately, he agreed. He even said that he would still be with me.
I'm nervous. My God.
Wrum and I started walking towards the underground floor. I saw none of his men standing there to watch.
Here we are on the stairs to the underground floor. We were just standing here as Wrum faced me.
"Your father isn't here. I already told you he's not with me. He's with my father." he said to me again. "I thought that you trust me, but still you're accusing me after hearing the lies of my father."
"Let's go down Wrum. I want to know this right away."
The nervousness I had felt doubled. It was as if I am doubting that Don Guillermo was telling the truth, but still doubting that Wrum was telling the truth too.
"Fine." seems he was angry with me.
We started to go down the stairs here to the underground floor. I then remembered what happened when I stepped on it. I was about to be raped by Wrum’s people, Jeric. My God. I don’t have to worry about that anymore.
We continued until we were already on the underground floor. It's dark. I have nothing to see. Moments later, Wrum pressed some button to the side that made me see what was it looks like to be here.
I just saw it now. It was as if we were standing in a hallway. There seemed to have rooms. I didn’t expect this cleanliness here. Sometimes the underground floors are turned into stock rooms. There the old things were placed, but this was different.
"I told you. No one is here," he said to me. "To make you believe, even more, let's check all the room."
"Okay." I just told him.
He had already started to open a room near me. He also turned on the light and I saw it was just an empty room. All I saw was dust on the floor.
"It's empty. Do you still think that your father is here?" He asked me.
"I don't know," I said. "Let's check the other room."
We looked into another room and I just saw it's inside. A room was full of assorted guns. Anyway, I won't wonder why he has that. I always see him and his people with guns.
"This is a room where we stock our guns, shotguns, bullets, and so on," he said. "That is why I do not want you to be here."
That's why. I thought then what was there on the underground floor.
I just sighed. I would have told him that we would just go back to the top because I think Don Guillermo was fooling me, but I didn't go on because I heard another shout. Loud shout and I know it's coming from here.
"What was that?" I immediately asked him. Someone shouted again as if he was in great pain. It’s like what I heard when I threatened to enter here.
"I don't know. No one is here, except us," he said to me. “And I’m sure there no one here."
I heard another shout. It seemed to be coming from the last room and this voice seemed familiar to me.
"It's my father's voice." I said nervously and immediately turned to Wrum." My father is here. "
"Your father is not here!" Wrum almost shouted that at me. "How many times do I have to tell you that?"
"He's here." confidently, I asked him. I ran to the last room and tried to open it.
Wrum told me something, but I never listened to him again. I really can’t forgive him if I see my father in here.
Opening the door, the nervousness I feel doubled. As if it was positive that my father is here. Looking at the side of the door, I click some button, the room was bright now.
Almost choked because I heard a scream because of the pain he was causing, but I was just surprised by what I saw. I thought I would see my father, but I didn't. It was a speaker that seemed to have a recording of my father’s voice.
"I told you to trust me, not to trust him," said Wrum behind me when he arrived at my back. Thought that my father was here, but he is not. Don Guillermo proves that he was lying to me, and Wrum proves he is telling the truth.
"I didn't set up this and I didn't even know about that speaker and that voice," said Wrum to me behind me. "If you wouldn't believe me again, you can review the CCTV footage in here."
I didn’t respond to what Wrum told me and continued my listening to the speaker.
"It's a prank!" that's what I heard on the speaker and that's Don Guillermo's voice. "I know you came here to see if Emmanuel is still here. Poor slave, your father is not in my son's mansion. He is in my hands and let's say not just your father is in my hands. As well as your mother. " appendix from the speaker.
Here I am even more nervous. Damn, he even included my mother.
"Well, I know you want to save your family." I even heard him on the speaker. "Let's just say, I want you to be here in my mansion in exchange for their life. See you soon."
That's why Don Guillermo said the word 'see you soon' earlier and I didn't know what to do so I just cried.
"Damn it," said Wrum and he faced me. "Don't cry. I don't want to see you cry."
"Mom and Dad." crying, I told him but he just hugged me right away.
"Don't worry. I'll try my best to save them and you won't have to go there to save your family. I'll do it for you instead."
I haven't been able to answer him yet. I just kept crying as he hugged me.
