Living His Love Novel

Kambry races to finish her census work, knowing the summer celebration in the meadow has already begun. She promised her brother Stahn she would attend, and his worry—or worse, his search for her—would be unbearable. Her daydreaming has cost her an hour of productivity, and now thoughts of the upcoming picnic distract her as she carefully dries the ink and stores her tools away. She dreads the small talk that awaits her at the celebration. Social interaction has never come naturally; she finds books far less demanding than people. As she makes her way to leave, Kambry checks herself carefully, lifting her skirt to hurry forward before stopping abruptly. She prays she dressed for the event before completing her work, worried about ruining her clothes. Examining her hands anxiously, she finds them clean of ink stains. Her dress remains unblemished, and she realizes she must have washed up after putting away her scribing tools and the census book.
