Invincible after death, but in Warhammer 40K Novel

Zhang Ge, a dimensional traveler bearing high-dimensional information, arrives in the Warhammer 40K universe with a peculiar theory: dying properly might grant him invincibility. Finding himself as an Imperial Guard soldier on the planet Sentinel with just a lasgun, he considers his chances of achieving a quick battlefield death excellent—after all, survival rates for common guardsmen are notoriously low. But complications arise immediately. His lasgun's machine spirit responds to his touch with unusual enthusiasm. When he peers over the trench, he effortlessly eliminates a dozen heretics. Most tellingly, when an artillery shell devastates his platoon's position, killing thirty to forty soldiers around him, Zhang Ge alone survives the blast unscathed. These unexpected developments force him to confront an uncomfortable reality: despite his intentions, actually dying might prove far more difficult than anticipated. His plan for a simple death is clearly not proceeding as expected.
