Bai Lian Hua, known online as White Lotus, is a seemingly unremarkable gamer who, surprisingly, enjoys engaging with forum discussions, even the negative ones. His days of relishing online conflict are shattered when he's alerted to a massive flamewar directed at him. His roommate questions his peculiar enjoyment of this, to which White Lotus explains it builds his reputation, typing speed, and resilience. However, he admits this constant online attention leads to frequent ambushes in the game, from dungeons to shopping districts. His life takes a dramatic turn when a powerful player, a "Great God," confronts him, mistakenly believing him to be a "renyao" (a term implying a female disguise) and demands a romantic relationship. White Lotus vehemently denies this, but the Great God persists. Later, during a media interview about the ongoing forum drama, White Lotus attempts to clarify his position, only to be interrupted by the Great God, who advises him to stop "selling Meng" (acting cute/innocent) to avoid gay rumors. White Lotus's indignant retort is met with the Great God's amused confirmation, "Yes, Lotus my sister."
