ALPHA'S HATED MATE
Camilla's POV
Heavy, that's the only word I can find that is fitting enough to describe the weight above my head. Ryan always teased that my neck should be tired from carrying my head around because it carried so much information it must be heavy.
Today that applies, but not because my head carries a lot of information. My eyes are not keen to see the world today, not that they've ever been but nonetheless.
Mirabelle's ranting is bouncing off my eardrums, the only thing I've heard is. "Cami, okay? and Come on." for the past twenty or is it thirty minutes? I can't seem to keep track of time. I groan putting my pillow over my head to tune out Mirabelle but I'm futile in my attempt to do so.
How did she even get in? I always lock my room from the inside so how did she make it here without me opening for -wait, now that I think of it, how did I get here? I try to wrap my head around last night's event's but it's all a blur, the last thing I can remember that's clear as day is meeting Summer.
“We have to make the most of our day before we get back to school and you know what? I want to try for a better position than Xi, being the Xi of this pack is insulting because they have everything, I am about as useless as an omega. I think Zeta would be a fitting position, I can handle war. What do you think?” Mirabelle asks, I can't see her right now but I do know she's too energetic to converse with this morning. “You would be a terrible Zeta, you like taking care of people, not killing them.” I yawn from under the pillow. As if on cue, vomit fills my mouth when I close it, I toss the pillow to the door and run to my bathroom, spilling my guts into the toilet bowl.
The stench flares up my nostrils making me vomit even more, I've puked before but this, this seems like an atonement for some crime against humanity and all forms of biotic factors known to man.
Making my way out of the bathroom, I met a chuckling Mirabelle, smug in her laughter. I feel like I puked out my meals from the past week and she's laughing at me. I toss my almost lifeless body on my bed, furrowing my eyebrows at her. “Get up lazy, you have to help me sign up for a role. I know most people do it when they’re sixteen but here we train for the roles we want then compete for them after the Second Moon festival which was yesterday, so anytime now.”
“You don't need a ranking in this pack, you're already the princess of it.” I wail in frustration because my eyes can't seem to stay open.
“I'm not, only Alpha's daughter gets that royal treatment around here and I'm not Alpha's daughter anymore so trust me when I say I've been touched by Alpha's wrath.” She snickers.
“You are so fucking energetic Belle, I feel lifeless, more so than other days and everything hurts.” I whimper.
“Everything..what do you mean by that, did you go to third base with Adrian last night?” She gasps.
I prop up leaning on my elbows. “Third base? Alpha Adrian?” I inquire, tilting my head because I'm confused frankly.
“Oh, so he is Alpha Adrian now?”
I stare at my wrists, they're bandaged up, I sit up straight, now paying attention to myself, I am dressed in an oversized t-shirt that doesn't belong to me. I stare at Mirabelle bewildered and she laughs.
“Why do I have bandages on my wrists and what am I wearing?” I peek down at myself.
“How would I know that's Adrian's shirt?”
“What-why am I wearing Alpha Adrian's shirt?”
“You seem astonished like you weren't all lovey dobby last night.” My eyes widen and I try to process her words.“Who?”
“You and Adrian, who else? you didn't let go of each other. You were glued to each other like buns, fresh out the oven.” She laughs.
I shake my head and laugh, she couldn't possibly be serious, I would never go near him much less stick to him like buns fresh out the oven as she said. “I didn't do that.”
She giggles and stops and she studies my face for something. “You don't remember?”
“No.” I blurt out.
“Sitting in Adrian's lap, kissing him? Or continuously challenging him?”
My eyes widen and I sit up straight, I can't seem to grasp any of the information Mirabelle is giving me, it doesn't sound like me nor does it sound like Alpha Adrian.
Swallowing my own saliva to lubricate my now dehydrated throat endorsed by the bombs Mirabelle is throwing at me, I shake my head. “That's impossible.” I tell her, because it is, if I were to dispute Alpha Adrian I would be dead just like everyone that was ever foolish enough to do so and the way my head is pounding assures me I'm alive, dead people don't feel pain.
“If you forget everything you do drunk, I propose you don't drink so much anyore.” she taps my leg, leaning back into the chair that shouldn't be this close to my bed, but that's a problem for later. Licking my lips I sigh, “I don't drink.” I truthfully confess.
“That explains a whole fucking lot.” She laughs, her head falling back as she does. “I am so tired Belle.” I complain, as I fall over onto the bed.
“Come on get up.” She grabs my arm and pulls me up.“Take a shower, you'll feel better and then we will have lunch and discuss your drinking preferences.”
“Shouldn't I be sleeping it off?”
“Why can't you shower by yourself?” I shake my head against my pillow. “Well should I get Adrian to bathe you sweetie?” That is all it takes to pump just enough adrenaline in me to run to the bathroom, leaving her laughing at me.
It takes every last bit of energy I had in me to shower but I do feel lighter, my hair is back to it's original color. And my bathroom was an equal mess to my bedroom.
“You have nothing clean?” Mirabelle arches her eyebrows at me as I walk in.
Yes I do have nothing clean to wear that I would be comfortable wearing in my current state. I grab a T-shirt from my sleep wear drawer and some long socks to match, the T-shirt sit’s right above my thighs.
“The interior decorator is here already. Do you want her to do your room?”
“No thanks.” Sounds like work, which happens to be something I'm not interested in putting in today.
“Come on this room is too bleak, aside from the butterflies, nothing says it's you.” Her convincing abilities are out of this world but I don't want to see them in action right now. “Hmm okay but no skeletons or Golden Hunter stuff or girly stuff.”
“I know. Just little butterflies and maybe flowers and an enormous picture of Adrian.” She giggles.
My eyes pop wide open, and she laughs even harder, “Kidding.” She assures me. But is she? I can't put it past her, as much as I relish in staring at her brother, having a picture of him in my room would be level one Joe Goldberg behavior.
Settling into my seat at the dining table I rest my head down, Mirabelle goes to hustle someone for food apparently she can't cook and neither can I.
I hear the sound of a plate being set in front of me and I sit up, the food looks good but I don't have the enthusiasm for it. Martin, who I'm pretty sure just came in since last night, takes a seat and pulls Mirabelle's plate and she grunts in response. “Hey Sugarpop, Love the hair, it's very.....you.” He winks.
I drop my head back on the table and grunt, at the very same time someone growls, the sound is faint which means it's coming from the entry way. The scent of fresh flowers is accompanied by a pitch of a chair being pulled out. Racheal I conclude because she smells like flowers on her "happy days" as she calls them which are the days when she has pizza twice a day. My happy days are the ones where I don't feel like I'm waiting for my demise.
More people sit down and I stiffen, bringing my legs to cross at the ankles. “What's wrong with my girl today?” Martin inquire’s.
“Your girl drank like a fish out of water yesterday and now she can't handle the aftermath.” Mirabelle explains.
“Thanks Belle.” I sarcastically grumble, sitting up.
I find Alpha Adrian eyes on me, I quickly look away and set my eyes on something safer, Santiago who has his eyes searching the room for something.
“Has anyone seen Camilla?”
“Right here.” I mumble, disturbed as to why he can't recognize me.
His face comes to mine. “Hi..” He says more of a question to himself.
I grab a fork and begin to shove it in my food.
“You have to eat, baby.” Mirabelle mumbles munching on her carrot stick.
“I'm full.”
Racheal looks between me and Mirabelle. “Haven't you been sleeping all day?”
I have, but it’s all I want to do. I’m not hungry and my head is throbbing. I turn to Racheal and shake my head, “I am not hungry.”
“Eat.” The voice comes from across the table, Alpha Adrian, I don't need to look to know he's looking at me. I begin to eat while everyone makes light conversation.
Shortly Martin leaves the table with Racheal apparently taking her shopping because she won a bet against him. Something tells me I was the bet.
“You don't want to eat Cami?” Santiago asks, setting his glass down.
I shake my head.
“So then why did you eat?”
I look back and forth between him and Alpha Adrian and he chuckles, of course I will take every order Alpha gives me, I have no restraint when it comes to obeying him and I don’t even know why.
“Drink some Lemon water, Santiago and I have work to do.” Alpha Adrian rises from his seat.
“Actually, we did nothing today.” Santiago relaxes in his chair.
“Oh, can you take us to see a movie then?”
“I don't think so.” Alpha Adrian retorts.
“But- Camilla would like to see the new movie.” Mirabelle pouts.
“Okay, we will go.”
“And have dinner?”
“We can have dinner after the movie.” He pauses and looks at me. “Get some rest Mia.”
My cheeks flare up with heat. He turns to Adrian and they both leave.
“Get some rest Mia.” She mimics Adrian and I smack my head.
“Stop.”
“Are you kidding me, never do you know how long I've wanted to try this?” she laughs. “I just manipulated Adrian without even trying. What are you doing to my brother Camilla?” She smiles.
Her question doesn't need an answer and even if it did need an answer, I wouldn't know what to say. I don't remember what she's talking about and I can't even look alpha Adrian in the eye.
“Come on baby, Your hair is a mess. let mama do it for you?” She pouts.
“Anything for you sweetie.” I giggle.
Mirabelle makes me happy, the least I can do is make her feel happy too, I love seeing her smile. She fakes so many giggles I love seeing her genuinely smile.
After a glass of lemon water and something Michelle brought me, I felt so much better that I stayed in Belle's room and let her doll me up her way. She seems to like how long and soft my hair is.
“There, you look beautiful.” She smiles.
“I've always wanted a little sister like you.”
“I thought I was older than you.”
“You would be but my mom had a difficult pregnancy so she gave birth to me at five months, chances of survival were minimal but I'm here.” She points to herself. “A whole miracle baby.”
“No wonder you're bad at math, the brain cell responsible for it was underdeveloped.” I joke.
“No seriously, I love how you let me do anything. You're just like Lauriana.” she smiles, her smile quickly fading.
